How You Read Shapes What Comes Next
Graded by More Than a Label
Length, kanji density, the words you click, and how each passage felt all decide what comes next — not just an N-level.
Looking Up a Word Isn't Cheating
Look up as much as you need. A tap shows the reading and meaning so you can keep going — and it tells Yomigi which words to bring back later.
It Learns How You Actually Read
The first passages are an estimate. After a few sessions the level, length, and vocabulary settle around what you can really read.
Who Yomigi Is For
You can already read kana and some basic Japanese.
You want more reading practice but real Japanese still feels too steep.
You like learning through context, not only flashcards.
Pricing
For eligible first-time monthly subscribers, Standard is $2.50 for the first month, then $5/month. Annual Standard stays $50/year and is not part of the first-month offer.

What is Yomigi?
Yomigi (読み技) is a Japanese reading trainer. You read short passages near your current edge, get help when you are stuck, answer a quick quiz, and that evidence shapes your next practice.
Is Yomigi for complete beginners?
Not really. You should be comfortable with hiragana and katakana and know at least a little basic Japanese. If you are still learning the scripts from zero, start there first.
Is this a replacement for Anki, WaniKani, Bunpro, or a textbook?
No. Those tools are strong for vocab, kanji, grammar drills, and structured study. Yomigi is for reading in context. Many learners use both.
Are the passages written by AI, and can AI be wrong?
Yes. Fresh passages are AI-generated, checked automatically, and sometimes revised; no human reviewer reads them before you do. Japanese, quizzes, and lookup explanations can still be unnatural, unfair, or wrong. Report anything that feels off—the passage is attached automatically.
What happens when I click a word?
Dictionary-style help and short context appear for that word or phrase in the sentence. It is meant to unblock you, not replace your own reading effort.
How does practice adapt?
Over sessions the profile tracks lookups, quiz answers, difficulty ratings, and reading friction—not just a single JLPT label. Future passages are graded toward that edge, but calibration is still improving and will not be perfect yet.
Which Japanese levels does it support?
N5 through N1 practice lanes. Shorter passages are the most reliable today; longer and harder lanes are still improving.
What does Yomigi cost?
Free is $0 and gives you 10 freshly generated passages a month—no card required. Standard is $5/month for 250 a month, or $50/year for Annual Standard (pay for 10 months, get 12), plus optional top-ups at $2 per 100 passages. Only newly generated passages count toward the limit. For eligible first-time monthly subscribers, Standard is $2.50 for the first month, then $5/month. Annual Standard stays $50/year and is not part of the first-month offer.
Can I cancel, and what about refunds?
Yes. Open Account & Settings → Billing → Cancel Standard. You keep Standard until the end of the period you already paid for, then drop back to Free. Update your card from Manage Payment in Link when needed (Yomigi is sold through Stripe Link under Managed Payments). If something looks wrong, email support@yomigi.app.
What should I do if a passage feels wrong?
Use the report button on the reader or recap screen. The report includes the passage and session details—you do not need to write a long bug report.
What data does Yomigi store?
Your account, reading sessions, lookups, quiz answers, difficulty ratings, reports, and profile signals. You can erase your learner profile from Account & Settings. Email support@yomigi.app with privacy questions.
Good to Know
Not a Good Fit Yet
- You are brand new to hiragana/katakana.
- You need perfect Japanese explanations every time.
- You want a full SRS, audio course, or grammar textbook replacement.
- Yomigi Is Early
- Yomigi is a small, early-stage product that is still improving. Support and refunds are one email away: support@yomigi.app.Updated most weeks — see the changelog.
- AI Writes the Japanese
- Japanese passages, quizzes, and lookup explanations are AI-generated. They can be awkward, unfair, or mistaken—report anything that reads badly.
- Generation Time
- A fresh long N1 passage can take up to about a minute. Shorter and lower levels are usually much faster.
Privacy
What Yomigi stores
Yomigi stores your account, reading sessions, word lookups, quiz answers, difficulty ratings, reports, and the signals that build your reading profile while your account is active. For privacy or data questions, email support@yomigi.app.
Advertising cookies
When Google Ads is enabled, Yomigi may load Google’s advertising tag. In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, advertising cookies stay off until you Accept in the ads-cookie prompt (Reject keeps them off). Outside those regions, advertising cookies may be used for conversion measurement without that prompt. Analytics cookies stay off. You can revisit this page anytime; clearing site data resets the prompt.
What support may inspect when you report a problem
If you report a passage or send feedback, support may review the passage, your answers, lookup activity, timing/debug data, and your note so we can understand what went wrong. For troubleshooting, this may also include your account key, support email, app version, build ID, environment, passage/session IDs, quiz scores, and AI generation metadata.
What delete learning history removes
Delete learning history in Account & Settings clears learner-owned practice data on this account: learner profile, placement and reading settings, saved passages and sessions, lookups, quiz answers, practice history, reading evidence, review state, feature stats, report notes tied to deleted passages, catalog exposure history, passage drafts, and AI request/generation logs.
What delete learning history keeps
Your login account, support email, sign-in link, billing status, admin-only support notes, shared reusable catalog passages, and operational records that are not tied to deleted learner sessions may remain.
Export, closure, and operational logs
Account & Settings includes delete learning history, close account, and download data copy controls. Download JSON from Account & Settings to export your learner profile, sessions, lookups, quiz answers, ratings, reports, and related account metadata. After deletion or closure, limited operational records such as closure events, billing webhook receipts, abuse-rate-limit counters, and anonymized product metrics may remain. These are not used to rebuild your reading profile.
Sensitive personal information
Do not put sensitive personal information in usernames, support notes, or practice text. Yomigi is for language practice—not for storing private life details, medical information, financial data, or other sensitive identifiers.
